While accessing the seed shop in Grow a Garden, you may have noticed an extra tab that’s locked and says ‘Feed NPC to unlock’. You need to feed Sam the Shopkeeper to open this section up and what it does is that it gives you Friendship seeds. Its stock refreshes every hour. Here’s a list of the seeds it currently includes, whether they are single or multi harvest, their rarity and costs.
How to Feed Sam in Grow a Garden
To feed Sam, follow these steps:
- Make sure you have a Cooking Kit which can be obtained via the Guide book for completing Achievements and it can also be purchased from the Cosmetics shop for 1,000,000 Sheckles.
- Once you have it, place it at a spot in your garden.
- Interact with it and use any of these Cooking Recipes to create a food item.
- Wait for the timer to end and then collect it. You should be able to see it in your inventory’s food section, indicated by a Chicken Leg icon.
- Equip it in your character’s hand, interact with Sam and hand him the food.
You can only give him one food item every 24 hours, so if you can give him higher-tier food items you get more points. Here’s the point distribution:
- Transcendent: 9 Points
- Prismatic: 8 Points
- Divine: 7 Points
- Mythical: 6 Points
- Legendary: 5 Points
- Rare: 4 Points
- Uncommon: 3 Points
- Common: 2 Points
To increase the Friendship level, here are the points you need:
- Level 1: 15 Points
- Level 2: 30 Points
- Level 3: 45 Points
- Level 4: 60 Points

Garden coins can be obtained by doing Garden Ascension and it costs a whopping 1T Sheckles. This gives you 10 Garden coins so make sure to spend them wisely. You can also use this currency for upgrades of egg capacity, save slot, pet inventory capacity, unique fences and more.
