How To Easily Enable Chat In Team Fortress 2

Enabling voice chat in Team Fortress 2 will ease up communications and take out all the miscommunications, however, the process to turn on voice chat can be a bit confusing especially to new players. If you’re wondering about how to enable chat in TF2, make sure to read the rest of this guide.

If you’re a new player who wishes to enable voice chat in Team Fortress 2, you will have to make sure that you have a premium account instead of a Free 2 Play account. To upgrade, all you have to do is spend around $5 minimum at the Mann Co Shop to enable voice chat.

You can even enable chat in TF2 if you have a Steam Unlimited Account, to get the upgrade you will have to either make a purchase of $5 or add that amount to your Steam Wallet. The game was made free to everyone, however, all those accounts have voice and text chats disabled until you spend money in the game.

It is a troublesome practice microtransaction process, but without following this technique, there does not seem to be any other way to enable or activate voice chats or text chats in the game.

Once you spend around $5, you will be able to talk to your teammates, via voice chat or text. You will also be able to call for a medic. To call a medic, press and hold down E, and holding down V will let you use the voice chats in the game.

As of right now, there does not seem to be any other way except for this to use chats in TF2. If you have a F2P account, make sure that you get it upgraded, and as soon as you’re done, you will be able to use chats in the game.
