While chatting with a friend or someone you met in a game, wanting to delete a part of the conversation is natural—you might want to go back on something you’ve written, or simply clean up if you’ve got a lot of messages built up, creating clutter. Most social media platforms allow you to edit or entirely delete messages, but how do you delete chats on Roblox? Here’s everything you need to know.
How to Delete Chats on Roblox
Unfortunately, Roblox doesn’t currently offer a way to directly delete individual chat messages or conversations. However, there is a workaround that hides the chat from your view. All you have to do is unfriend the person whose chat you want to hide and this will remove the chat conversation from your inbox.
If you want to clean up your inbox, you can use the Archive feature. Archiving messages will move the conversation from your inbox to your Archive tab, hiding it from your main view. To archive a message, click the Archive button as shown here. This only works for system messages from Roblox itself and not for the chats with other players.
There are some things to keep in mind:
- Unfriending only hides the chat for you. The other person will still see the conversation.
- While the chat disappears from your view, Roblox might still store it on their servers for moderation purposes.
If there’s inappropriate communication from another person (like harassment or bullying), you can consider reporting the chat to Roblox if it violates their community guidelines.
Here’s how to report:
- Go to the person’s profile.
- Click on the three dots (…).
- Select Report.
- This will flag the person’s messages for Roblox moderators to review and take appropriate action.
While deleting chats isn’t currently an option, hopefully these workarounds help you manage your Roblox inbox!
