How to Change Mako Controls in Mass Effect Legendary Edition?

If you prefer the old way for nostalgia and prefer the old handling, you can keep the classic Mako controls. To do this, you have to look for Mako Camera-Relative Steering under Controls on PC only as of now. Toggle it to get the classic controls.

It seems like this option to disable is not available for Xbox (One, Series X | S) and PlayStation (PS4, PS5) players yet. We’ve looked everywhere and so have a lot of Reddit users. It’s possible that it will be added in an upcoming update.

Changing the Mako controls to the older ones will help you stay like the authentic experience. You can also keep the new controls if you want easier and better handling. There will still be some bounciness but otherwise it will have enough weight that makes it easier to control while driving.

There are more Mako changes and improvements that we have detailed in our guide on what’s different in the Mass Effect Legendary Edition. It includes the changes such as shields generating faster and more. Plus, touching lava will deal damage over time and not cause instant Mission failure.
