How to Catch Moby in Fisch

Published Date :

The list of Secret fish in Fisch is incomplete without the Moby, which is described as a monstrous whale. It can be caught via the Whale Migration event and is a challenging catch due to its erratic movement on the fishing line. Here’s how you can prepare and successfully obtain the Moby.

How to Get Moby in Fisch

Moby can be obtained from The Ocean during the Whale Migration event. Keep an eye out for the announcement message and once you head to the location, start fishing right away. Note that it is not needed to catch the other two Blue Whales that are also swimming in the event, however, the Moby is a rare occurrence. It has a 5% chance to appear during Whale Migration and you will see only one spawn, so it’s all about defeating your competition with the right fishing rod, bait and luck.

You can use some of the best end-game rods like the No Life, Heaven’s Rod, Ethereal Prism rod, Rod Seraphic rod, and ROTFF.

The best bait to use is Squid and if you have multiple totems, you can use them one after the other to force the Whale Migration event. It has a 20% spawn increase during rainy weather which can be forced with the Tempest totem.

To increase your chances, stack Luck including Server luck, Merlin’s Luck and use a fishing rod with a high luck stat as well. If the rod has an enchantment that helps with Resilience and Control, even better, because you will see a -95% progress speed decrease. As soon as you hook it, you will see a silver exclamation mark indicating that it’s a Secret fish, and so, completing the minigame successfully is crucial.

You can exchange the Moby for a Song of the Deep Relic with Captain Ahab in Moosewood (X: 363.8, Y: 133, Z: 294.7). It can be used to get the Blessed Song enchantment on your fishing rod which grants +40% progress speed when reeling.
