How To Beat Alatreon In Monster Hunter World: Iceborne

Published Date :

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne gets the dragon who was the final boss of Monster Hunter III and that is the Alatreon. Apart from this massive addition (literally), check out what’s new in Title Update 4. In this guide, we will explain how you can take on this black elder dragon and defeat him. Here’s how to beat Alatreon in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne.

How to Defeat Alatreon in Monster Hunter World

Alatreon is a very tough and powerful enemy that you will encounter during your Special Assignment of Blazing Black Twilight. Due to its intense power level, killing it on your first try will be difficult. If you are feeling frustrated after multiple attempts, don’t worry. We will provide some strategies you can use to kill Alatreon in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne.

But first, let’s learn more about this forbidden elder dragon. The most important thing to remember is that it will shift between Ice, Fire and Dragon elemental attacks. You have to give a proper counter to these by using the right element. This boss battle is all about elemental damage which will make Alatreon fall to the ground. The NPCs will give you some guidance throughout the fight so pay attention there as well.

This monster is deadly but not without weaknesses. Use the vulnerabilities of the dragon as shown below and utilize weapons accordingly. This will deal quite a bit of damage to it.

Boss Fight Tips To Beat Alatreon

Remember that the horns, tail and forelegs in the front are the weak points of Alatreon. You can break these plus sever the wings and tail to weaken him. When you focus on the horns with elemental damage and break them, you can avoid its shifting to Fire or Ice Active.

Use the Immunity Mantle that will give you some protection from the elemental blights. Also, you need to keep Astero Jerky and Max Potions handy because it will help you recover during the Escaton Judgment. Now, here’s the thing that is causing frustration among players – this Supernova skill of Alatreon, called Escaton Judgment, is insane.

How to Survive the Supernova Escaton Judgment

It is a one-hit game-ending move that can make even the best players fail the mission. Alatreon will destroy your health with this attack, so the strategy is to weaken it enough which will make him unleash a weaker Supernova attack. During this you can heal yourself with the items you have brought along so that you don’t die.

As you can tell from the craziness that is the Alatreon, it is best to fight it with a team. It can be done solo as well since many players have succeeded in defeating Alatreon all by themselves. But for groups, make sure everyone on the team is set to beat this monster with Elemental damage.

This is everything you need to know to beat Alatreon in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. Follow these tips, keep attacking strategically and eventually you will manage to knock down this beast.
