In order to hatch eggs, you need to add the egg to your Pokemon party and start walking. While this is the process to hatch every egg in the game. The amount of time the egg will take to hatch depends on the species of the Pokemon that the egg group belongs to. And of course, it also comes down to how much you walk or ride your Koraidon or Miraidon.

While there is no new data on the number of steps needed to hatch Pokemon for Scarlet & Violet yet. We can assume the numbers are close to or are similar to what they were for Generations 7 and 8. Thanks to Bulbapedia for their Egg cycles list for it.

Thus the least amount of time to hatch an egg is for you to walk 2560 steps for a Pikachu. And the most number of steps you need to walk to hatch a Pokemon is 10240 steps for Pokemon like Larvitar, Bagon, and more.

How long do Starter Eggs take to Hatch?

Based on the pattern of previous starters, it should take you 5120 steps to hatch a Sprigatito, Fuecoco, or Quaxly.

As for most other Pokemon they might hatch after walking either 3820 steps or 6400 steps. Do remember you cannot breed Legendary Pokemon so hatching them from eggs is not an option. Finally, if you are having trouble breeding Pokemon that are genderless or if you are unable to find compatible Pokemon, then I suggest you use a Ditto to breed them.
