Arrowhead recently announced the release date of Helldivers 2 along with a trailer and the platforms it will be on. The original top-down co-op shooter was released 8 years ago. And the sequel has definitely changed a lot. So if you are ready to defend Super Earth once again, here is when you can start.
Helldivers 2 Release Date
Helldivers 2 will release in 2023 for the PS5 and PC. The game revealed this in its announce trailer, but we are yet to find the month and day of its release. By looking at the trailer you might think it is just another Third Person Co-op shooter game. But the fans of the game have been waiting for a sequel since 2015. And by no means are they in no small number. Hundreds of players still play the game daily and thanks to this announcement many might revisit the classic.
What is Helldivers 2?
It is a Co-op game that you can play with up to 4 players. The story revolves around you living on Super Earth which faces an Alien Invasion. You have to step into the shoes of an elite class of soldiers known as the Helldivers. Your goal is to spread “Peace, Liberty, and Manage Democracy” to defend the Super Earth from these aliens.
And in order to do so the game gives you a variety of weapons to use. But weapons aren’t everything, especially if the odds are against you in battle. So it also lets you call in for backup. You can have an Anti-Personnel Mine Deployer set up your defense or call in an Eagle to drop a bomb on the enemy.
And to keep the game not just fun but also challenging, Helldivers 2 will have friendly fire as always on.
Helldivers 2 is Releasing on which Platforms?
Helldivers 2 will release on PS5 and PC. The game is not going to be available for the PS4. As for Xbox, since the first game wasn’t on the platform either it is unlikely the Xbox Series X or S may get Helldivers 2. Although that might change in the future.
