Updated Date :

If you’ve been a Roblox player for years, you already know about the iconic Headless Horseman, but now, you can unlock this character in Grow a Garden as well! In GaG, it’s a limited Prismatic pet added in the Halloween event, and if you want to unlock this horseman with a Jack-O-Lantern head, here’s what you need to do.

You have a chance to obtain the Headless Horseman pet via a Spooky Egg that’s purchasable from the Halloween Market shop. Go to Creepy Critters when the event shops appear and buy the Spooky Egg with Candy Corn currency. If you don’t have it yet, our linked guide will explain how you can farm them.

Place the egg and come back after 4 hours and 10 minutes to check the pet you’ve received. If you’re lucky, you may unlock the Headless Horseman because it has a 0.5% drop chance. The other pets you could potentially get are Bat, Bone Dog, Spider, or Black Cat, each with their own abilities.

What does the Headless Horseman do?

Every 40 minutes, it will haunt a random level ~80 pet that does not have a mutation, resetting it to level 1. However, it will also give it one of four chaotic mutations: Dreadbound, Soulflame, Spectral or the rare Nightmare.

  • Dreadbound will help your pet gain an additional 6-30 XP per second.
  • Soulflame gives an extra 60% boost to the pet’s XP per second. Moreover, every so often, a nearby fruit may get mutated with the Burnt mutation (20-30%) or if lucky, the Flaming mutation.
  • Spectral gives a 1.08x boost to the pet’s passive ability.
  • Nightmare will provide a 1.22x boost to the pet’s passive and also increase the size by 125%. There’s only a 6-12% chance for the pet to get the Nightmare mutation.

So whether you want this pet for its visual, its ability or both, the Headless Horseman in Grow a Garden is worth putting time into it because of its ability to apply mutations to pets.
