After the groundbreaking success of GTA 5, the hype for the next installment is undeniable. When the trailer leaked early, Rockstar decided to release the official trailer right away, instead of its 9 AM ET time. And unsurprisingly, the growing view count on that video is baffling.
GTA 6 Trailer 1 Breaks Youtube Records
Trailer 1 for Grand Theft Auto 6 seems to be on its way to becoming the most views in its first 24 hours because, at the time of writing this article, it was already at 39M+ (after it premiered 6 hours ago). It sits at #1 on trending currently and has 5.5M likes already.
Update: The video has 64M+ views in 14 hours.
Currently, the YouTube record for most views in 24 hours is held by BTS. Their song “Butter” holds the record with 108 million views in 24 hours.
In terms of a non-music video, the YouTube record for most views in 24 hours is currently held by MrBeast for the video “$1 vs $250,000 Vacation!” with 52 million views. This has already been broken by the GTA trailer!
When you search GTA 6 trailer on Youtube, though, the first relevant video that may show up is GameSpot’s video which has raked in 4.7M views since it was published 6 hours ago.
Even when you search GTA 6 trailer rockstar games, IGN’s video game appears. This will most likely dent the “record” aspect of the video posted on Rockstar’s official channel.
GTA 6 is the most anticipated game in video gaming history from a record-breaking franchise, and it makes sense that the first official trailer drop also breaks records in some way.
