Grow a Garden Aurora Borealis Weather and Mutation Guide

Published Date :

The Aurora Borealis is a rare global weather event in Grow a Garden. Unlike admin-triggered weather effects, this one occurs naturally across all servers at the same time. When it happens, the game’s sky changes into a glowing version of the blue night sky and the game gets soothing sounds to go with it. The best part is that your crops can get the Aurora mutation and if you’re curious to know the multiplier and visual changes that will occur in fruits, this guide is for you.

What Happens during the Aurora Borealis event in Grow a Garden?

During this event, all crops that are active or hit by the weather will automatically receive the Aurora mutation. Visually, the crops will get a pulsing blue and purple color similar to the Disco mutation, but with a smoke-like aura around them. This makes it easy to spot, especially if you have a garden packed with plants.

How Often does this Weather Appear?

Aurora Borealis is one of the rarer weather patterns, unlike rain and snow. While exact spawn rates are not known, it’s likely similar in rarity to events like meteor showers. It typically lasts for a few minutes, giving a short window to benefit from its effects.

The only way to get this mutation is to have crops in your garden during the Aurora Borealis weather. Make sure you have top-tier crops planted because their base value will be high, which will only get higher after getting mutations. Use the sprinkler method to get big plants so that they sell for a good amount.

Aurora Mutation Multiplier

The Aurora mutation is high-value because it gives you a whopping x90 multiplier. This makes it one of the highest single-mutation boosts in the game aside from Celestial and Shocked which are relatively common. There are other limited high value mutations as well such as Dawnbound (x150), Voidtouched (x135), Disco (x125), Galactic (x120), and Alienlike (x100).

If you keep the crops without harvesting and they get multiple mutations that stack, the value of your garden is going to get boosted by a huge margin.

The Aurora Borealis weather event is a unique opportunity to gain one of the most valuable crop mutations in Grow a Garden. So, if you’re a dedicated player who is focused on making the best version of your garden, this mutation cannot be missed.
