Best Counter Pokemon Against 7-Star Greninja Tera Raid
Gastrodon
Knowing about Greninja’s moveset and Tera-type, the best Pokemon to counter this 7-Star Raid is Gastrodon. This Ground-type Pokemon will take less damage against the Poison Tera-type. Moreover, you won’t have to worry about Hydro Pump because of Gastrodon’s Storm Drain ability. When attacked by a water-type move, this ability negates damage and increases the Special Attack stat of the Pokemon. That makes Gastrodon the perfect choice in this Raid. Since Poison-type is weak against Ground-type moves, here’s a moveset you should use in this raid:
- Earthquake
- Acid Armor
- Recover
- Mudshot / Clear Smog
Quagsire
The water-ground dual-type Quagsire is another good choice against Greninja. Due to its Water Absorb ability, it’ll heal itself when attacked with Water-type moves. And due to its ground-type moveset, it can deal heavy damage to Greninja. Here are the moves you should use with a Quagsire build:
- Earthquake
- Recover (Egg Move)
- Mud Slap
- Haze
Slowbro
Poison-type Pokemon are weak against fairy-type moves. That makes the water-fairy dual-type Slowbro a good alternative for this raid as well. It’ll have strong immunity against Greninja’s water and poison-type attacks. However, you’ll have to be careful against dark-type moves. To counter that, you should use moves like Iron Defense. Here are the moves you should use in this raid:
- Zen Headbutt
- Iron Defense
- Nasty Plot
- Stored Power
Apart from the right Pokemon, we also recommend making the best use of the Hold mechanic. There are several items like the Assault Vest, Twisted Spoon, and more that’ll help you take on this Tera Raid. After beating Greninja, you will receive many rewards Poison Tera Shards, Exp Candy, Bottle Caps, and more.
