As Jin Sakai, a powerful Samurai in Ghost of Tsushima, you need to travel long distances and eliminate the enemies invading your island. For this purpose, moving around on a horse is essential and the game actually gives you options to choose a horse. Which horse should you choose? How to call your horse? Find out everything you need to know in this Ghost of Tsushima Horse Guide.
Ghost of Tsushima Horse: Which One to Choose?
At the beginning of the game, Jin Sakai will be taken to a stable where you will find three horses. These are no ordinary horses – these are Samurai warhorses that you can use in battles. They will be in three colors – dapple, white and black. You must choose the color you want at this stage.
Next, you can choose between the names Nobu, Kage or Sora. These are Japanese names which mean Trust, Shadow and Sky respectively. Jin Sakai will call the horse by the name you pick. If you are wondering which name or color to pick for your horse, remember that these choices will not impact your gameplay at all. These options are available only to give you a choice, because you will be riding your horse all over the map. So, simply pick the one you like the best. You will be not able to change the horse color and name after you have picked them, so make sure to choose carefully.
During combat, your horse cannot be hurt or killed but Jin Sakai can fall off the horse, so make note of that. If your horse gets scared, it can run off but it won’t die. You don’t have to worry too much about leaving behind your horse and exploring on foot because wherever you are, you can call your horse.
One more thing to keep in mind is that you can mount any other horse in the game by pressing R2. But the horse you chose at the beginning is the one who comes to you when you call it.
How to Call your Horse?
All you have to do is whistle to call your horse. No matter where you are on the map, your horse will arrive by your side like a trustworthy companion. To do this, press left on the d-pad. Once your horse appears, mount it and begin your travels once again. With a horse, you can reach your destinations easily and quickly. Plus, you can collect the items on the way faster and attack your enemies while you’re on your horse as well.
Ghost of Tsushima Digital Deluxe Horse
There is a Digital Deluxe horse as an extra option for you if you have bought the Digital Deluxe edition. But again, it has no special abilities that make it a better horse during the game. It is purely for visual appeal. If you like how the Ghost of Tsushima Digital Deluxe horse looks, go ahead and pick it.
