From Rotten Mushroom to Yoshi Candy, there are tons of items that players can use against their enemies in their campaign against the Smithy Gang in Super Mario RPG. One such item which provides an invaluable assist when used is the Star Egg. The reusable item has made its way in the newly released remake and there are a variety of reasons why you should have it at your disposal.
The Star Egg deals massive 100 damage by calling a Starslap and two Zeostars upon all the enemies on the field in Super Mario RPG. And since it’s one of the reusable items that you will come across, it won’t be consumed after one use. However, getting your hands on one can be tricky and time-consuming in the game. With that out of the way, if you are someone trying out the game for the first time or an old player who can’t recollect where exactly can you find the item, here is everything you need to know about it.
How to Get Star Egg in Super Mario RPG
To get the Star Egg in Super Mario RPG, players will first need to unlock the Grate Guy’s Casino in Bean Valley. You will need the Bright Card which you can get by defeating the Knife Guy in Booster Tower to have access to the casino. Once you are considered a member of the Casino, you can simply head inside and interact with Grate Guy. You will then have to exhaust all the dialogues available while talking to him up until he asks you for a game of Look the Other Way.
The premise of the mini-game is simple, you will have to avoid looking in the same direction the Grate Guy Points at. However, having said that there is no specific chronology of the directions that the NPC will point at in Super Mario RPG.
This makes the mini-game incredibly tricky and time-consuming. Not to mention, to obtain the Star Egg, players will need to win 100 games of Look the Other Way against Grate Guy. However, there is no compulsion to win the games on the trot and you can visit the casino back whenever you want. Other than the Star Egg, you will also win different items like Rotten Mushroom, Wilt Mushroom, etc.
How to Use Star Egg?
Players can use the Star Egg while facing other enemies directly from the item menu in Super Mario RPG. To bring the item menu, you can press the X Button on the Switch. Unlike the Mystery Egg which requires a Nurture Ring, the item can be used directly in the battle. As mentioned before, it will call upon a Starslap and two Zeostars dealing 100 damage to all the enemies on the field.
Players can increase the damage dealt to 150 by using the Attack Up effect from special moves like Geno Boost in the game. Quartz Charm can also increase your attack which will help you deal extensive damage with the Star Egg in Super Mario RPG. It is worth mentioning that the item won’t be consumed and can be reused in other battles.
