Players who pre-ordered any edition of Mortal Kombat 1 will gain access to Shang Tsung. If you have pre-ordered the game, then check the bottom-left corner of the roster selection screen. You will find him there. This is applicable for both physical and digital pre-orders. But the method of unlocking is a little different.

If you pre-ordered a physical copy, you will receive a code to gain access to Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat 1. Can’t find the code? check the voucher inside the game box. If you still haven’t found the code, contact the retailer who sold you the game. And confirm if they opted for the Shang Tsung preorder offer.

Digital copy players don’t have to do anything. As for them Shang Tsung automatically becomes available in Mortal Kombat 1. Since Premium and Kollecter’s editions have already been launched at the time of this guide, they can check their roster selection for it. If you still haven’t received the character, then there are two possibilities for this. First, your purchase might not have been considered as a pre-order or you are not connected to the game server.
