There are a plethora of resources that you can find in this game, but Moss is one that many players are having a hard time getting their hands on. It is a material that you can find only on certain trees. But the problem is it doesn’t form easily and as such even if you are looking at the right tree, due to its rarity you may not find any. Worry not, here are your answers for how to get Moss in Stardew Valley, how to use it, and what to do if you can’t find any.
How to Get Moss in Stardew Valley
You should find large or old trees with green texture formed at their trunks to get Moss in this game.
- The best place to look for it is in the Cindersap forest. You can also find it in mountains or any regions where there is an abundance of trees.
- Find any tree that has green formations on its trunk. Check the above image for reference on what it should look like.
- Walk up to it and knock the tree to get it as a drop. You can even use an axe to chop the tree down, although to collect you don’t have to necessarily cut it.
- Each such tree should drop anywhere between 1-2 drops of Moss.
How to Use Moss and Make Soup
You can use Moss to make the Moss Soup. It can be made via a Cookout Kit or in any kitchen of an upgraded farmhouse. Thanks to the game’s wiki for this information. To make it you need:
- Moss x20
When consumed it will restore 31 HP and 70 energy for you.
Can’t Find Moss in Stardew Valley Fix
This isn’t a bug, if you can’t find moss then it might simply be because it must not have formed on the trees yet. Firstly, make sure you are playing on version 1.6 or above of the game. Aside from that you can either check other forests or trees or simply use rest a few times and check on a new day to see if Moss is now available.
That is all for how you can get Moss in Stardew Valley. You should also check out our guide on the mods compatible with the 1.6 version of the game.
