In Multiplayer and Battle Royale games, having a lower ping rate is a must. For those who don’t know, a higher ping rate is responsible for your game to lag continuously. Consider Ping as a set of data that is sent from your device to Fortnite servers and back. The lower the ping rate, the smoother the gameplay experience. You might hear from a lot of players complaining about higher ping rates. So, what can you do to get a lower ping in Fortnite? Here’s everything you should know about it.
How to Get Lower Ping Rates Fortnite
Here’s what you can do to get a low ping in Fortnite for better gameplay.
Change Region
Always make sure that the region you have selected in Fortnite has a lower ping. Here’s what you can do to change the matchmaking region in Fortnite:
- While in Main Menu, click on the Settings icon.
- Further, select the Games tab and navigate to the Language and Region settings.
- From there, you can toggle between different Regions.
- In addition, you can also see the corresponding ping with the region.
- Ensure to select the Region with the lowest ping for a better Fortnite experience.
Use Ethernet
Using Ethernet over a wireless connection is always beneficial. This is because wireless internet connections are always at risk of being interrupted. Whereas, Ethernet guarantees uninterrupted connectivity.
Update your Network Adapter
- From the Search bar, look for Device Manager.
- Therein, navigate and double-click on the Network Adapters.
- Further, right-click on your Network Adapter to update it.
Restart your Router and Device
If you are using WiFi, then you should turn off your Router for at least 30 seconds. Also, I would recommend you restart your device in the meanwhile. After that, restart both of them and launch Fortnite to get a possibly lower ping gameplay.
That is pretty much everything you can do to lower the ping in Fortnite. While you are here, make sure to check out our other Fortnite Guides on Gamer Tweak.
