You should get Coiling Wards in Diablo 4 as early as possible. It is a Crafting Material in and an important resource that you will want as you progress. In its in-game description, it tells you you can get it by salvaging Legendary Armor. But the game won’t tell you which armor from. So here is everything you need to know about how it works, how to use it, and what to do when you can’t get it.
How to Get Coiling Wards in Diablo 4
To get Coiling Wards you have to go to a Blacksmith and Salvage your Legendary pieces of Armor. These should have high power, anything 400 and above will give you a better chance of dropping it. And to get such Armor pieces you should play on World Tier 3 and above.
Armor pieces include Helms, Chests, Gloves, Pants, and Boots. There are three types of Legendary Armor pieces that you can salvage and they are: Normal, Sacred, and Unique. All 3 of them can give you Coiling Ward when you salvage it.
It is important to remember there is a Chance of it to drop and it is not Guaranteed. But you can increase this chance by farming for better Legendary Armor by playing on higher World Tiers. Salvaging a Helm of 800 power will have a better chance to drop Coiling Ward than salvaging a Helm of 500 power.
How to Use Coiling Ward in Diablo 4
You can use Coiling Ward to upgrade your Legendary Armor or to Imprint Aspects.
Upgrading Armor is easy you can get it done from any Blacksmith. You can find them by looking for the Anvil icon on the map. But before you upgrade any armor make sure you decide if you will use it for quite a while. Getting Coiling Ward isn’t exactly easy and requires a lot of grinding. So accordingly salvage any armor piece that you don’t need and upgrade the rest.
Imprinting Aspects on the other hand is somewhat similar. Aside from Gold and Coiling Ward you also need Aspect or Codexes. You can get Codex by completing dungeons. Check for the Dungeons for your character class before completing them. Once you have them.
- Go to any Occultist.
- Here place your item in the Item slot.
- Next, place your Codex or Aspect.
- Finally check if you have enough gold, Veiled Crystals, and Coiling Ward.
- If you have them all then go ahead and imprint the Aspect on your gear.
