When do you get a Broom in Hogwarts Legacy?
You can unlock and get a Broom by progressing the main story quests and completing the Flying Class quest in Hogwarts Legacy. As it is a part of the Main Story, you cannot miss this quest. But before that, you have to complete Jackdaw’s Rest quest to unlock this quest. Once you have completed this quest, head over to the Bell Tower Wing. Over there, Madam Kogawa will teach you the basics of broom flight and maneuverability.
After completing the Flying Class and taking all the Broomstick lessons, head to Sprintiches Sporting Needs in Hogsmeade. This shop will unlock once you have completed the quest. Upon talking to Albie Weekes, you can buy your Broomstick. All the flying brooms cost 600 Galleons and differ according to the cosmetic styles. Once you have purchased the broom, Albie Weekes will discuss upgrades.
Now that you have obtained the flying broom let’s delve into the flying part.
How to Mount or Fly on a Broom in Hogwarts Legacy
Before the flight, note that you cannot fly in Hogsmeade or the Hogwarts school. So, you can head close to the South Hogwarts region to fly on a Broom. Here’s how to mount or fly a broom in Hogwarts Legacy:
- PlayStation 5: Hit the L1 + Circle buttons
- Xbox Series X | S: Hit the LB + B button to mount the broomstick.
As you mount the broom, you can tilt the left stick upwards or downwards to ascend and descend. You can tilt the left stick on your controller right or left for camera control and movements. If you want to fly the broom faster, hit the R2 or RT button. Doing so will result in the character leaning forward and flying the broom slightly faster. You can also hit the L2 or LT button for a speed boost. But as you do so, your flight meter will eventually deplete.
Finally, decrease your travel speed and fly closer to the ground to get down or dismount the broom. Then, hold the Circle or B button to dismount the flying broom. You can complete different Broom Time trials to upgrade and increase the flight meter bar. You can find these trials across the open world. Furthermore, you can also upgrade your broom to increase the flight meter, travel speed, and height.
