The Waverider is a vehicle that players can use in Genshin Impact to travel from one part of the map to another after the release of version 1.6. If you are wondering how to get a boat in Genshin Impact, how to summon it and what are the controls to navigate and fight with it, this guide will help you out.
How to Get & Summon a Boat (Waverider) in Genshin Impact
First you need to unlock the Waverider Waypoint in the Inazuma region and Golden Apple Archipelago.
Players need to reach AR 30 to get to this region and another prerequisite is to complete the Archon Quest Chapter 2: Prologue – Autumn Winds, Scarlet Leaves. Once you get to the Waverider Waypoint, activate it to summon the boat. Swim to its exact location and get on it by pressing the button prompt. Now you’re ready to use it to travel to another location via water.

Things to Remember about the Waverider
- Players can use the boat attacks to either damage enemies from the Waverider itself or you can use it to destroy Hilichurl structures that are underwater.
- You can use the engine stamina to increase the speed of your boat and this is different from your character’s stamina.
- The boat also has some HP and if you use the Waverider Repair Toolbox gadget, you can restore 50%. In case the boat gets dealt a lot of damage and its HP becomes zero, you will be removed from it. Meanwhile, you won’t take damage while you are inside the boat. But if you want to come out, you can also self-eject by pressing and holding the spacebar key.
