A little over two weeks ago, the free-to-play action role-playing game Genshin Impact was released for the PlayStation 4, among others.
As reported during the week, Genshin Impact quickly became the most successful new brand from a Chinese development studio, with sales of more than 100 million US dollars. Accordingly, the miHoYo developers are planning long-term with Genshin Impact and are working on extensive new updates.
When asked, those responsible at miHoYo commented on a possible PlayStation 5 version of Genshin Impact and confirmed that we are dealing with a topic that is definitely being discussed internally. The Chinese studio would like to provide further details on its own plans for the next-generation consoles in due course.
“We have plans regarding next-gen consoles, and we will be announcing them as these plans take shape. We do not currently have plans to release the game on Xbox,” said the studio to Twinfinite. Statements that suggest that the possible next-generation implementation of Genshin Impact could appear exclusively for the PS5.
