What are Fungus Type Plants in Grow a Garden?

Updated Date :

Grow a Garden consistently has events where an NPC requires specific crops and often, they mention a certain type, such as Fungus-type plants. It can get confusing so for the current event or future ones, if you’d like a list to go back to, this guide is for you. This will also come in handy for specific pets because their abilities are often tied to a type of crops as well. In this case, the Shroomie pet works well in a garden with a lot of Fungus-type plants.

These are the plants currently classed as Fungus types in the game. There may be more as the game receives further updates.

  • Mushroom
  • Glowshroom
  • Horned Dinoshroom
  • Nectarshade
  • Mega Mushroom
  • Merica Mushroom
  • Sinisterdrip
  • Duskpuff

Here are the common ways you can get these Fungus crops/seeds:

  • Seed Shop — For example, the Mushroom seed is purchasable here but it is rarely in stock.
  • Event Packs / Seed Packs — Glowshroom, Horned Dinoshroom, etc., often come from special seed packs tied to events like Night Event, Ancient Packs, etc.
  • Special or Limited-Time Shops — Some Fungus types are sold only during certain in-game events or via special NPC shops.
  • Exclusive / Seasonal Availability — Some Fungus types are unobtainable outside certain windows (after an event ends, etc.). This means you will have to wait for return events or get pets that help you get those seeds from others’ gardens. However, not all seeds can be stolen or easily stolen so the chances to obtain them this way are relatively lower.
  • Trading — If the task you’re currently doing only requires the crop and not the seed, you can request a friend or another player to give it to you via trading.

To ensure that you have something for future events, go for multi-harvest crops during the limited time event and try to have at least one plant of each type (such as prickly, flower, berry, leafy, fruit, tropical, vegetable, woody, sweet, etc.).
