If you’re playing as Sorcerer or Sorceress then you should surely know all about the Freezing Wake and how it works in Diablo 4. It is a Mount skill that you get after unlocking a Mount in the game. Unlike the Spur and Dismount Skill, this is the third skill that is exclusive to Sorc Class. Similarly, every class has a class-exclusive third Dismount skill that brings good damage and AOE to the table. Moreover, the Freezing Wake mount skill has also gotten better than it was earlier, after the 1.0.3 Patch notes in D4. So let’s see more about how the skill works and what are its effects.
What Does the Freezing Wake Do in Diablo 4? (Damage & Effects)
In Diablo 4, the Freezing Wake mount skill is a Dismount skill where the Sorcerer gets down from the horse as a wisp of ice. This horse attack dashes into the enemies and not only deals damage but also freezes them for a few seconds. Notably, the 1.0.3 Patch notes increased the base damage from 60% to 110% of this Sorceress mount skill. However, there are no changes to the Stun duration and is still for 2 seconds.
As it goes without saying, in order to use Freezing Wake the players will have to unlock a mount first. And that can be done by completing the mission Mount: Doman’s Favor. If you’re having trouble getting a horse, then check out this Mounts guide for more help. Once you’re done with that, simply get on the horse and you’ll see all 3 mount skills in the Skills bar below. Freezing Wake is easy-to-use but you can always make perfect use of it by doing some practice.
