Pokemon is a game about becoming a trainer of wonderful Monsters and battling other Trainers to be the very best. This has been the motto of Pokemon from back in Generation 1 of Pokemon, 1996. After that, there were many Pokemon titles released and at the time of this article, there are 8 Generations and Gen 9 on the horizon. In Pokemon there are various typings, 18 to be exact. All of them with their Strengths & Weaknesses. One of which is the Flying Type. In this guide, I will talk about Flying Type and its Strengths & Weakness in Pokemon.
What is the Weakness of the Flying Type in Pokemon
The Flying Type in Pokemon was one of the first Pokemon Types in Gen 1. It is also a very common Type to have a lot of Legendaries like the Kanto Legendary Birds, the Forces of Nature, the Tower Duo, the Eon Duo, Rayquaza, Yveltal, the Galarian Legendary Birds, & Enamorus. In the beginning, it was given:
- Flying Type Pokemon Weakness in Gen 1 –
- Electric Type
- Ice Type
- Rock Type
- Flying Type Pokemon Weakness from Gen 2 onwards –
- Electric Type
- Ice Type
- Rock Type
What is the Flying Type?
As I have mentioned above, the Flying Type in Pokemon was one of the first Types that were introduced. It is considered to be a very good Typing as it has a lot of good Moves as well as some great Pokemon. Along with these factors, it also has some good Type interactions. As of Gen 8, its interactions with other types are:
Super Effective against: Fighting Type, Bug Type, & Grass Type.
Not Effective against: Rock Type, Steel Type, & Electric Type.
Resists against: Fighting Type, Bug Type, & Grass Type.
Weak against: Rock Type, Electric Type, & Ice Type.
Immune against: Ground Type.
Flying Type Pokemons are pretty strong as they more or less shut every Fighting, Bug, & Grass Type. They are immune to Ground Type Moves as they are not grounded. Besides Ground Type Moves, other Moves like Rototiller & Toxic Spikes do not affect them. Flying Types are still affected by Stealth Rocks & Seeds. This Type is also the fastest compared to the Others. The most notable ones are Rayquaza & the Eon Duo. The best Type that synergizes with Flying is Ground. Flying is immune to Ground Type but Ground has a neutral relationship with it. Granted this Type combo gets a 4x Weakness to Ice & a 2x Weakness to Water but that is just two weaknesses with 3 Resistances & 2 two Immunities. The Pokemon you can get from Ground & Flying are Gliscor & Landorus.
