VOID Interactive, the developers behind Ready or Not, officially allowed mod support for players to have even more engaging content in the intense tactical fps shooter game. And while players can install the mods directly from the main menu, many recently are unable to do so because of a subscription failed error on the bottom left of their screen. This makes subscribing and installing the wide range of mods available in the built-in mod io manager almost impossible.
The issue is more frequent when players unsubscribe specific mods and try to install them again after the recent hotfix patch in the game. And it can be quite frustrating to encounter the Ready or Not subscription failed error over and over again. So if you are looking for some possible solutions, here are some of them that you can try out to get rid of the issue.
Ready or Not Subscription Failed Error Troubleshooting Tips
Before going any further, we would suggest you make sure you have a stable internet connection. Sometimes unstable internet connection can cause issues while downloading the mods from the built-in mod manager. With that being said, here are some of the workarounds that you can try out to fix the issue and start subscribing to the mods again in Ready or Not:
Restart the Game
Players can first start by closing and relaunching Ready or Not entirely. It can be that the game is temporarily bugged out for some unknown reasons and you will be able to resolve it with just a restart. Once you restart the game, subscribe to any of the mods you were previously trying to install and see if it worked.
Remove Mods
If restarting the game doesn’t work, we would suggest that you remove the installed mods altogether. You can access the Pak folder inside the game’s directory where the mods are installed and delete them. However, removing them means they won’t be featured in the game and you will have to subscribe them again individually from the mod io manager. You can also delete the mod io folder which has reportedly worked for many players around.
Update the Game
Considering that Ready or Not has just been officially released, players can expect such issues and errors. The developers will frequently try to mitigate such errors by releasing hotfixes and patch updates. Make sure you have the game updated to the latest version and check for any new updates available. If there is then the devs might have released it to address the Ready or Not Subscription Failed issue.
Uninstall Ready or Not
If none of the above solutions work, players can always uninstall and reinstall the game to resolve the mod error. Once you do, all of the temporary issues will be resolved including any mod-related ones.
Install Mods Manually
Players can avoid the issue altogether by installing the mods manually. Since Ready or Not officially allows you to install mods, players can try to get them manually from Nexus Mods and the official Mod IO site. The built-in Mod IO manager can encounter several issues like the Subscription Failed Error. And this is where manually installing the mod helps you steer away from such errors.
However, you will need to install the mods properly and inside the Pak folder in the Ready or Not directory. In addition to everything, there are even more mods available on the sites than the mod manager.
However, if you are trying to get them from the mod manager and the issue persists, we recommend you contact the official support for some help. They will get back to you and resolve the issue accordingly.
