What does the Chaotic Enchantment in Fisch do?
Chaotic Enchantment is a boost for your rod that gives your catches a chance to gain the Chaotic Mutation. When a fish has this mutation, its sell value is multiplied by 12. These fish are visually unique, appearing transparent with black and white areas. While the mutation doesn’t apply to every fish, the overall effect of the enchantment results in an average profit boost of about 88 percent, making it one of the rarest and most valuable upgrades in the game.
Chaotic Enchantment and Mutation
To obtain this enchantment, you’ll need an Enchant Relic (no need for an Exalted one) and access to the Enchanting Altar. Enchant Relics can be found randomly while fishing with a 1 in 300 chance, or purchased from Merlin on Sunstone Island for 11,000C$ after reaching level 30.
Once you have an Enchant Relic, head to the Mines on the Statue of Sovereignty island. Use an Elevator Token from Cole to reach the altar, but make sure it’s nighttime in-game, as the altar is only active at night. You can use a Sundial totem to switch to night if it’s currently day. When you use the relic, a random enchantment is applied to your currently equipped fishing rod — which means you might need to try a few times to get Chaotic.
The biggest advantage is money-making. With the chance to earn twelve times more from mutated fish, this enchantment can seriously boost your income. The unique visual look of a Chaotic fish also makes them fun to collect.
However, there are downsides. The enchantment you receive is random, so you may burn through multiple relics before getting Chaotic. Also, fish with the Chaotic Mutation cannot be appraised, which removes any potential bonuses as well.
The Chaotic Enchantment works best with rods that have high mutation chances or other mutation-related bonuses. If your goal is to earn as much currency as possible, this enchantment is a must-have. Just be prepared to invest some time, effort, and maybe a few relics into the process.
