Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine Delayed

Published Date :

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ubisoft had to delay two games. It hit Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine. They will only appear in the coming fiscal year – sometime in the period from April 2021 to March 2022.

Ubisoft announced in the evening that the releases of Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine have been delayed. Both titles dropped out of the current financial year and will only be launched in the 2021/22 fiscal year. This means that the games will be released between April 2021 and March 2022. The publisher was not more specific.

According to Ubisoft, the COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on production. Employees had to do their work from home, which was and still is an enormous challenge. Because of this, more development time is required.

The news was revealed when Ubisoft released its second-quarter results today. The French publisher is likely to comment on the delays in a conference call shortly.

At first, it was only said: “Benefitting from this strong momentum, and despite having moved Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine to 2021-22 to leverage their full potential in the context of production challenges caused by COVID-19, our new [income targets] for 2020-21 remain within the boundaries set back in May. Being able to maximize the long-term value of our IPs, while at the same time maintaining solid financial targets highlights the increasing recurring nature of our revenues, the strength of our portfolio of franchises, and confidence in our holiday season release slate.”

Further releases like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Just Dance 2021, or Immortals Fenyx Rising are apparently not affected by the delays. According to the latest information, they will appear as planned by the end of the year. The remake of Prince of Persia and Riders Republic are planned for the first quarter of 2021. Here are the dates:

  • Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – November 10, 2020
  • Just Dance 2021 – November 12, 2020
  • Immortals: Fenyx Rising – December 3, 2020
  • Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake – January 21, 2021
