How to Facet Ability Stones in Lost Ark?
To Facet Ability Stones in Lost Ark, you first need to go to an Ability Stone Cutter NPC. These NPCs scattered across the World of Lost Ark in a fairly good amount. To find them, just look for the Turquoise Crystal NPC on the Map or top of the NPC’s head. Once you get to them, you will be able to start the Facet process if you have your Ability Stones. Interact with the NPC & select the Ability Stone you want to Facet. Now we can begin the Facet Process.
The Facetting Process
- In every Ability Stone has 2 Positive Engravings & 1 Negative Engraving.
- Engravings are the Special abilities that the Stones offer.
- Each Engraving has a certain number of slots, the number of slots depends on the rarity of the Ability Stone.
- Besides the Engraving, there is a Hammer icon.
- Clicking on it will cost Silver, the amount depends on rarity, and will fill a Slot on the Engraving you clicked on.
- Next to Positive Engraving, there is a Chance of Success & next to Negative Engraving, there is a Chance of Cracking.
- They both start at 75% and the chance will increase or decrease depending on the success & failure while Faceting an Ability Stone.
- If the Slot becomes a Bright Blue from the Positive Engraving or Bright Red from the Negative Engraving, the Chance will go down.
- But if the slot from the Ability becomes Grey from both Positive & Negative Engraving then the Chance will go up.
- The Best way to Facet an Ability Stone is to prioritize the first Ability Improvement Engraving and treat the second Improvement Engraving as a sacrificial one.
- When the Chance is high, Hit the Hammer on the first Positive Engraving.
- If the Chance is either 55% or 45%, then hit the second Positive Engraving.
- Once the Chance is below 50%, Hit the Hammer on the Negative Engraving.
- Balance this try to get the high Chance for the first Positive Engraving.
- Do this a couple of times & you will get a decently good Ability Stone with good Engravings.
And that’s pretty much all you need to know about how to Facet Ability Stones in Lost Ark. As you can see, doing so is quite easy. But there is a lot of RNG involved. There will be times where your Ability Stone will get the worst chances. As such, you may not use it and it cannot be even traded after Facetting. Alternatively, you can choose to dismantle the Ability Stone to get the Power of Mystery. This can be rather advantageous, as you can use it to create more Ability Stones & recycle the bad ones.
