How to Evolve Scyther in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

To get Scizor in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, you will have to go through one of the most unique evolution processes. Scyther will evolve into Scizor if you trade it while holding a Metal Coat. There are only 2 ways currently to get a Metal Coat, you can either wait for it to pop up in the Auction house or directly purchase it from Delibird Presents in Levincia. Although the former option is extremely rare and can possibly cost you a lot of money. We suggest you buy the Metal Coat from the Delibird store; it will cost you 3,000 Poke Dollars. Once that’s done, simply go to your Bag and equip Scyther with the Metal Coat.

Now comes the complicated part, you need to find a friend who plays Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, and also owns Scyther with a Metal Coat. If they’re willing to trade, set up a Link Trade between yourselves. Just make sure your trade partner’s Scyther is holding a Metal Coat by checking its summary before finalizing the trade. If not, your Scyther won’t evolve and it will be a wasted opportunity. Once the trade is completed, you will automatically be able to evolve Scyther into Scizor. You won’t have to worry about leveling it up.
