How to Evolve Inkay in Pokemon Sword and Shield

Published Date :

Pokemon Sword and Shield gives you a new generation of Pokemon that we have never seen, with these can a lot of the Pokemon from the previous generations, you will be wanting to catch every Pokemon that you see and evolve them. This guide will show you how to catch and evolve Inkay in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

How to Evolve Inkay in Pokemon Sword and Shield

To catch an Inkay you will have to hang around at Route 7, this is the place where you will find the most number of Inkay. The spawn rate is okayish at best and this means that you will have to work a bit sometimes before finding one.

The evolution of Inkay is the most bizarre one we have seen to date, some Pokemon require perfect conditions or items in order to evolve. Well, Inkay has its own way and this one is our personal favorite.

To evolve an Inkay all you have to do is get it up to level 30, once the battle is over, all you have to do is hold the console upside down and then press A.

It goes without saying that you will need your Switch in the handheld mode instead of being docked.

Once the message pops up about you reaching level 30 with your Inkay, all you have to do is hold the Nintendo Switch upside down and press A repeatedly.

This will evolve your Inkay to a Malamar and this is more of a party trick, but we are a fan of this just as much we love the other Pokemon evolutions.

This is all there is to know about how to evolve Inkay into a Malamar in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Pokemon Sword and Shield is exclusively available on the Nintendo Switch and is developed by Game Freaks.
