Dying Light 2 was shown during Square Enix’s E3 conference and the major talking point was the fact that this featurette did not show anything about the story but how well the parkour elements in the game can be used to your advantage.
This is a new take on the survival horror game as most of them will have you either flight or fight mechanics and though this falls into the same mechanics, changing a simple aspect of this brings new avenues for players to quickly move from places and find new vantage points.
Running freely in a zombie infested city seems like a fun new thing and will certainly come in handy, this does, however, bring a new outlook to the genre. Maybe this will catch on and other developers can implement this into their game or go horribly bad, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Dying Light 2 will not only feature zombies but also mercenaries that you will have to fight in order to restore balance and bring power back to the people, you will have to find a balance between fighting humans in the day and zombies in the night, this should make for compelling gameplay.
Dying Light 2 is scheduled to release in early 2020 for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
