Some items that you try to remove might even be equipped. So you will have to open your inventory and press the designated button in order to unequip them. In order to drop or remove items from your inventory in Sons of the Forest, you simply need to select the item and press G on your keyboard.

However, one fair warning is that Sons of the Forest has enemies hidden in all forms and corners. So you will have to either be certain that you are safe for the time being or learn how to get quicker with practice. Fortunately, you have the NPC Companion Kelvin who will help you through a lot of processes by collecting basic items. Hence you won’t have to waste your time or inventory space to hold these items. You can simply remove them from your inventory.
