To get to the Dragon Island in Elden Ring, you will first need to look around in the caves on the mainland for Grace Point. Once you do so, you will find a message reading Lost Grace Discovered. Getting the Grace Point will allow you to explore deeper into the said cave.
Once you get deeper into the cave, you will come across several different enemies. Since this cave is so dark, we recommend you carry a torch so that you can see better. When you face these enemies, you can either battle them and kill them or run right past them. The choice is yours. However, we do need to mention that killing these enemies will give you extra runes.
Upon killing all the enemies, you will find yourself in the next chamber of the cave. Before you head deeper into this section, we recommend you pay attention to a glowing gold light. Doing so will help you summon Old Knight Istvan. This knight will help you keep one of the bosses occupied.
With the knight by your side, you should creep and stealthily kill all the minions. Once you get past them, you will find yourself battling the two bosses. These Demon Chieftains are tricky to beat thanks to their melee attacks. Allow the knight to use his stats to help you take these cretins down.
After successfully killing both the bosses, run to the back of the chamber until you see a white swirling pillar of light. Do not interact with this pillar, as it takes you straight back to the entrance of the cave. Instead, keep heading further into the darkness. Doing so will take you into a new tunnel. Here, you need to slice your way past the enemies.
Killing these enemies and moving forward will take you to the entrance of Dragon Island. Yes, you read that right! This is because the cave you enter at the start is actually part of a network of tunnels that run right below the sea and into the island itself.
