Sifu – How To Dodge, Block, & Parry?

Sifu is a Beat’em Up Action-Adventure game developed by Slocap. Slocap is a game studio that makes games that utilize Martial Arts and other such Fighting Styles. This is evident by their previous game Absolver and now Sifu. In Sifu, they are a multitude of moves that consists of various Punches, Kicks, Grabs, Pushs, Stuns, etc. Each of them more powerful than the last one and getting hit by them could be fatal. So how do you avoid them? Can you Block them or at the least Dodge them? Is there a Parry mechanic in Sifu? In today’s guide, I will show you how to Dodge, Block & Parry in Sifu.

How to Dodge, Block, & Parry in Sifu?

To perform the Dodge, Block, or Parry in Sifu on the PS & PC, you will have to press the respective keys/buttons as follows:

  • For PS4 & PS5:
    • To Block/Guard, press and hold the L1 button in Sifu.
    • To Dodge, press R2 and the direction you want to dodge to with the Directional Stick in Sifu.
    • If you press L1 at the right time of an attack, you will perform a Parry in Sifu.
  • For PC:
    • To Block/Guard, press and hold the Space button in Sifu.
    • To Dodge, press Shift and the direction, you want to dodge to with the WASD Keys in Sifu.
    • If you press Space at the right time of an attack, you will perform a Parry in Sifu.

In every Beat’em game, Dodge & Block moves are essential. They allow you to defend against powerful moves or at the very least, reduce the amount of damage you take. The Parry mechanic allows the player to temporarily stun an attacking Foe and then allows them to unleash a barrage of attacks on the foe. If you combine the Dodge, Block, & Parry in Sifu, successfully, you will clear levels and missions without taking a point of damage. The best part is, performing them is pretty easy.
