Trees do not grow back or respawn, however since Valheim is vast and there’s no end in sight for the game every tree that you take down will have a sapling. New trees grow back from that sapling, each world is randomly generated and every map is different. With tons of Biomes and other kinds to consider, you may never know a new tree has been grown in Valheim.
While you’re free to take down as many trees as possible in Valheim, crafting is one of the biggest aspects of the game. It is the key feature that will enable you to get new weapons and armor in the game, this will help you to get stronger and challenge bigger enemies.

We personally haven’t seen any tree grow back where it used to be in Valheim and while everything is just data in the game, we’re pretty sure that the same tree gets relocated to a completely different and random area of the game.
