How to Unlock Diving in Hello Kitty Island Adventure
Unlock Flippers for Swimming
First, make sure you have unlocked the Flippers to be able to swim in water. You can do so by talking to Keroppi who will give you the Plan for Flippers after you complete the “Power Up the Gate” quest with Chococat.
Keroppi will be located in Spooky Swamp which can be unlocked by reaching Friendship Level 1 with Chococat and finding 3 Yellow Power Crystals. Once you’ve made your way to Keroppi, start the Finding Flippers quest. To craft Flippers, you will need Fins and Strap. He will give you the Fins, but you need to collect the Strap in a treasure chest in Lilypad Lagoon. Craft the Flippers and you’re all set to start swimming.

Before you can start diving, though, you need to complete a specific quest to obtain the Snorkel. Follow these steps:
- Progress Through the Main Story – Continue completing quests until you reach a point where you need to explore underwater areas.
- Level up Friendship with Kuromi – Getting to Level 6 Friendship will initiate the quest for Deep Diving. You can do so by giving Jack-O-Lantern that can be crafted with pumpkins.
- Help Kuromi find her Locket – When you talk to Kuromi in Spooky Swamp, she will give you a Snorkel to dive underwater and find the Locket for her.
- Give her the Locket – When you’ve given her the Locket, she will give you the Plan to craft a Snorkel.
- Craft the Snorkel – You can craft one with 10x Rubber, 2x Spark, and 2x Ingot.
Once you have the Snorkel, follow these simple steps to dive into the ocean:
- Find a Body of Water – Look for lakes, rivers, or the ocean where diving is possible.
- Walk Into the Water – Your character will automatically start swimming once you enter.
- Use the Dive Controls – Dive-related UI will appear and you can go deeper, however, keep an eye on your Stamina because your character will swim to the surface if you run out.
- Explore and Collect – While underwater, look for treasures, quest items, and more.
