That said, the presentation of DIRT 5 showed one very interesting detail: its story mode.

The DIRT 5 reveal not only showed one of the projects Codemasters has been working on, but it also served as a showcase to announce that this installment will have a career mode focused on the development of a story, which will have the participation of 2 great actors related to video games. We’re talking about Nolan North (Nathan Drake from Uncharted) and Troy Baker (Joel from The Last of Us ).

According to the information that Codemasters gave, both actors will give voice to a couple of characters that will accompany their ascent on the racing circuits worldwide, which will have different paths depending on the decisions you make.

Although no further details were revealed in this regard, the type of narrative suggested in this career mode suggests one of the games that best achieved that combination of racing and story development: R4: Ridge Racer Type 4.

The ability to play four players on one screen is also implemented. Soon, a complete list of game modes will be presented, which will include a new mode focused on creativity, and created to play in the company with friends or to compete on the network with the best racers in the history of DIRT.

The new game will have race tracks from all around the world including New York, China, Greece, Arizona, and Rio de Janeiro. Other news from the game includes dynamic weather, more customization options for vehicles, and a greater focus on multiplayer. Local multiplayer with split-screen for up to four players has also been confirmed.

DIRT 5 is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC in October this year.
