In Baldur’s Gate 3, there are a lot of annoying types of enemies and NPCs that players will have to deal with for certain quests or while exploring. One such construct that can be painstakingly difficult to get rid of is the Scrying Eye in the game. The construct is resistant to all damages you can think of except thunder.
Players wouldn’t want the Scrying Eye in Baldur’s Gate 3 to be around them, since it will report any crimes being committed. However, with that being said, it’s not quite as easy to attack and defeat it either as it alerts its allies which will eventually summon all the creatures. So if you are wondering whether the eye is worth destroying or attacking in BG3, then here is everything you need to know about it.
Should you Kill the Scrying Eye in Baldur’s Gate 3?
The simple answer would be, yes, you will need to destroy the Scrying Eye in Baldur’s Gate 3. However, we would suggest that you do it where it’s absolutely necessary for your campaign or during combat. The main reason is, that these are resistant to all types of damage except one and you don’t want to take that risk in the game.
There will be times when these Scrying Eyes will be patrolling different areas and can cause quite trouble for you while in combat. Players will have to deal with them effectively to avoid them from alerting their allies. For example, during the Blind the Absolute quest, it is necessary for players to destroy the Scrying Eye in Baldur’s Gate 3 to keep their end of the bargain with the Duergars. However, you will need to be careful and destroy it without anyone noticing it.
The construct can be totally avoided if you aren’t committing any crime or are forced into combat besides it. Alternatively, in situations like the one where you need to interact with Minthara in the Shattered Sanctum but are obstructed by a Scrying Eye patrolling the area, you can simply lure Minthara away from it.
How to Destroy Scrying Eye in BG3
To kill the Scrying Eye, players will need to be aware of their surroundings and the construct’s weaknesses. Since it’s a construct, you will find it weak to the Shatter Spell in Baldur’s Gate 3. It can be quite effective against the enemy, however, you will need the right classes for the spell.
Additionally, in the Blind the Absolute quest, players will have to simply let the Scrying Eye in Baldur’s Gate 3 follow them towards the edge of the lava cliff in Grymforge. You can do this by sneaking behind it and using Hide in the game. Once it has followed you towards the edge use Shove to push it into the abyss and kill it.
