This is one of the decisions you’ll have to make in the early stages of the game. Don’t worry choosing any of the given options will not affect the story quest. However, it’ll surely determine the buff you get in the game. If you want to know which choice will be more favorable for you, then we’ll explain it to you. For your reference below we have mentioned all the outcomes of whether you destroy the Ritual Circle or forge Lantern in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Should You Destroy Ritual Circle or Forge Lantern in BG3?
According to us, you should ask Gale to destroy the Ritual Circle and not forge the Lantern in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3). That’s because destroying the circle will grant him a Concentration check and other Constitution Saving Throws buffs. To do this simply select the option that says, It’s time, Destroy the ritual circle, Gale. On the other hand, you can also destroy the circle by yourself by selecting Erase the shadow sigils option. Doing this will make you feel a reassurance touch from Mystra and the Constitution Saving Throws buffs. Do note, the blessing is not given right away and takes some in-game progression.
But if you ask Gale to forge a Lantern and not destroy the Ritual Circle in BG3, then you’ll only get a 1x Shadow Lantern. On the other hand, if you attempt to craft a Shadow Lantern by yourself then you’ll first have to roll 30 on an Arcana. And then only you’ll get the option to forge a Shadow Lantern. So it’s better you ask Gale to get the job done by selecting I think you should forge the Lantern, Gale. For the crafting process simply pick up the Broken Lantern kept beside the same table. And then combine the Broken Lantern with a Dead Pixie by using the Ritual Circle. Shadow Lantern grants you a summon spell in the game, which is not that useful compared to the Concentration check buffs Gale gets.
