Destiny 2: Beyond Light is the fifth major expansion releasing on November 10, 2020 on Xbox Series X and Series S, PlayStation 5, Google Stadia, and PC. Destiny 2: Beyond Light preload date and time
Preload starts in the late evening of November 9, and it unlocks the next day on November 10. There is no concrete info if Bungie is going to offer a pre-load of Destiny 2: Beyond Light a few days before. You will have to wait till November 9 to get the game file downloaded on your console and PC. As far as we know there is a wait time of around 9 to 10 hours before the game launch. This is when the pre-load of files begins.
There is one issue with Destiny 2: Beyond Light download. There are major changes in the game which may cause the entire game re-download. We are verifying this detail, if it’s true you will have to download the entire Destiny 2 game with all its add-ons including Beyond Light Expansion. Even if you are having the full game installed the update will be pushed which will download everything back from scratch. It is important to keep an eye on the pre-load on November 9 to avoid wasting time in downloading GB’s of data.
Destiny 2: Beyond Light preload download size
Destiny 2: Beyond Light expansion us around 60 to 70GB in size. Download size of the expansion will be different on different platforms. The console can have a bigger download size compared to the PC platform. We are unsure about this, but if you are forced to download the entire game then be ready for a 70 to 80GB of download. Or else if things go well, the size can be 40% lesser excluding the main base game.
It’s necessary to re-download the entire game, however, the expansion is coming up after a long time. There will be game fixes, and patches that will be required to play Beyond Light. If the base game is too outdated a fresh update will replace the old copy + expansion which increases the download size.
