Days Gone Best Skills Guide – Top Melee Skills To Unlock First

Survival in Days Gone on mere basics is impossible, you are not just surrounded by zombies but cults, gangs and at some point armed soldiers. Survival is everything in Days Gone and we bring you the best survival skills you must unlock first. In this Days Gone best abilities and upgrade guide, we give you the list of top survival skills you have to focus first and then you can pick anything from the tree that has 15 skills in total. All skills require Skill points to unlock you will earn as you progress through the main story.

Top Melee Skills To Unlock First

1). Field Repairs:

A simple yet every effective skills, by buying this you can repair melee weapons using scraps. And melee weapons damage a lot, like the boot knife which is best when it comes to stealth kill. So keep your weapon in best condition get this one first.

  • How To Unlock: Requires 1 Skill Point. The skills fall in the first row of Melee Skill tree below Escape Artist. To unlock this one, you will need the first skill also so overall you will need 2 Skills to point to unlock Field Repairs.

2). Talk Shit, Get Shit:

At the start, you will require to hit multiple times to kill the enemy. This skill will save you time. It extends the combos with melee weapons. You can perform multiple hits easily to kill enemies. It is an important skill when you are dealing with a group of freakers.

  • How To Unlock: Requires 2 Skill Point. The skills fall in the second row of Melee Skill tree below Hard Hitter. To unlock this one, you will need the first skill also so overall you will need 4 Skills to point to unlock Talk Shit, Get Shit.

3). The Reckoning:

The skill adds critical takedown on a melee weapon, it works on humans, swarms, and newts. But it does not work with Boot Knife. You can keep it in your list and use it later one, this skill is important if you are using a lot of melee attacks.

  • How To Unlock: Requires 4 Skill Point. The skills fall in the third row of Melee Skill tree below Lightning Reflexes. To unlock this one, you will need the first skill also so overall you will need 8 Skills to point to unlock Talk Shit, Get Shit.

  • How To Unlock: Requires 8 Skill Point. The skills fall in the fifth row of the Melee Skill tree.

6). Executioner:

This ability will make you powerful enough to kill a heavy feaker with a stealth attack. You can also attack heavy freaker and large animals while escaping a grapple, so it is an important combat skill and also pretty costly.

  • How To Unlock: Requires 8 Skill Point. The skills fall in the third row of Melee Skill tree below Retribution. To unlock this one, you will need the first skill also so overall you will need 16 Skills to point to unlock Talk Shit, Get Shit.
