Players now have access to the full release of Darkest Dungeon 2 but are faced with an issue with their mouse not showing up and no cursor in-game. Red Hook Studios have finally removed the game from its early access with the latest patch notes. And here is a guide on how you can fix the mouse not working issue in Darkest Dungeon 2.
Fix Mouse Not Showing Up & No Cursor Issue in Darkest Dungeon 2
Updating your Drivers
Updating your mouse drivers to the latest version helps you avoid such issues in the game. Check if the mouse drivers are updated by going into the device manager and clicking on mice and other pointing devices. You can update them by doing the same, after which you can head toward the Driver tab and click on the Update Driver option.
Switching to Windowed Mode
If you are unable to see your mouse in Darkest Dungeon 2, you can switch from fullscreen to windowed mode from your in-game video settings. This would run the game in windowed mode which would help refresh the window. This should fix your cursor not showing up in the game.
Disabling In-game Overlays
Graphic card software offer Overlays which you can make use of while playing the game. Sometimes these overlays can be a drag and cause bugs and stuttering gameplay. So while playing Darkest Dungeon 2 you can disable these by going into the settings of the respective graphic card software.
- For Nvidia Geforce, you can disable the overlay by going into settings and turning off the In-game overlay option.
- In Msi Afterburner you can disable the overlay by going into settings. Once in you can head toward the monitoring tab and disable the show on-screen option.
Note: Disabling the In-game overlay won’t give you access to its features during the game. You will have to turn it back on to do so.
How to Fix No Cursor in Darkest Dungeon 2
Corrupted game files can cause several bugs in-game making it unable to play. You can check if some of the game files of Darkest Dungeon 2 are corrupted or not by verifying them.
These are the steps you can use to verify the integrity of the game files:
- Start by opening Steam and head toward the library.
- Right-click on Darkest Dungeon 2.
- In the drop-down menu click on the properties option.
- Once done select the local files tab and click on the verify integrity of game files option.
After that Steam will automatically verify and check for any corrupted game files. You can do the same in Epic Games by going into your library, then after clicking on the three dots, you can head toward Manage and the same option will appear for you.
If none of the above fix work for you, you can always uninstall the game and reinstall it. This would replace any existing corrupted game files and also update the files to their latest version.
