What Does Curse Of Vanishing Do In Minecraft?

    Curse of Vanishing Minecraft Guide

Despite having a lot of items, blocks, enchantments, potions and weapons, Minecraft dropped two more brand new treasure enchantments — Curse of Binding and Curse of Vanishing  — in its patch 1.11 for PC/Mac.

Before we explain what Curse of Vanishing does in Minecraft, let me tell you that Treasure enchantments can only be found through looting chests,  fishing, or trading with villagers.

What the Curse of Vanishing Does in Minecraft

The Curse of Vanishing enchantment allows you to curse an item in Minecraft. If any item is cursed in Minecraft with this enchantment, the cursed item will be disappeared when you die in the game. Unlike the curse of Binding, you have an option to take the item off to repair or enchant it further.

Notably, you have an option to add the Curse of Vanishing enchantment to any tool, weapon or armor with the help of an enchanting table, anvil or command. The Maximum level for the Curse of Vanishing enchantment is 1. Yes, you read that right! You would not be able to enchant any item higher than Curse of Vanishing I, for this enchantment.

Items to Enchant with Curse of Vanishing

The following list of items can be enchanted with the Curse of Vanishing in Minecraft.

    • Aqua Affinity
    • Bane of Arthropods
    • Blast Protection
    • Channelling
    • Curse of Binding
    • Depth Strider
