How To Turn Off Crossplay In COD MW2 (PC & Xbox)

Published Date :

COD Modern Warfare 2 has been finally released and features a plethora of new gameplay elements. This includes new maps, weapon customizations, and more. Using the crossplay feature, you can connect with your friends on other supported platforms. But recently, players have been struggling to disable this setting on their platforms. Not to worry, check out our guide on how to turn off the Crossplay in MW2.

How to Turn Off the Crossplay in MW2 on PC

Follow the below steps to turn off the crossplay mode in Modern Warfare 2:

  • Head over to the Multiplayer section on the top right side of your screen.
  • Rather than choosing a mission, head over to Settings. You can find this option as a gear-shaped icon next to the Notifications option.
  • As you open the menu, select the Account & Network tab in Settings.
  • Then, toggle the option for Crossplay to disable the setting.

But unfortunately, the devs have removed this setting on PC and Xbox platforms. This option for whatsoever reason is available only for PS5 and PS4 players. So, if you are a PS player, you can follow the above steps to disable Crossplay.

While PC players get no say in this matter, there’s a workaround for Xbox players. Scroll till the end to find out.

How to Disable Crossplay on Xbox

Follow the below steps:

  • Firstly, head over to the Xbox Settings and select the Account tab.
  • Select the Privacy & online safety option under the Account section.
  • Then, hit the Xbox Privacy option and choose the “View details and customize” option.
  • As you head over to this section, select the Communication & multiplayer option. Over there, you will find several options for permissions and privileges.
  • You need to toggle and block the “You can join Cross-Network play” option.

This would hopefully disable the Crossplay on your Xbox consoles.

In my opinion, the Crossplay issue could be a minor bug and would be resolved in their upcoming update or patches. When that happens, we will make sure to update the article.
