Is GTA 6 Going to be Cross Platform?

Updated Date :

The recent announcement of GTA 6 by Rockstar Games has skyrocketed the community’s expectations and hype for the anticipated release. Since the company has confirmed the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto installment most recently, many questions have started resurfacing. Will the awaited title feature cross-platform? Except for the trailer announcement posted recently, there are no details about the crossplay support in GTA VI.

However, it hasn’t stopped the Redditors and community from speculating about the new features. Since the current GTA 5 Online doesn’t feature cross-platform, many players are hoping that Rockstar Games surprise players. So, here’s everything we know about the crossplay support in this anticipated game.

Will GTA 6 Have Cross Platform or Crossplay Support?

No, GTA 6 most likely won’t be a crossplay despite Rockstar Games not addressing any official statements about it. Like the lack of cross-platform in GTA 5 Online, it’s likely there won’t be any support in the next installment as well. However, Rockstar Games would want to hype players with new features and perhaps include the support for consoles. So, there’s also a possibility GTA 6 might feature cross-platform. At this point, this remains purely speculative.

If that happens luckily, players on different consoles can play together. This would allow players on the PlayStation platform to connect with Xbox players and vice-versa for an online session. Considering the possibilities, GTA VI will be an upgrade to its predecessor in that case for many players. But ultimately, it’s only up to developers to decide and take the final call.

Due to a leak in September 2022, the silver lining is that GTA VI will have a multiplayer mode. This leak was also confirmed by Rockstar Games on X:

“At this time, we do not anticipate any disruption to our live game services nor any long-term effect on the development of our ongoing projects.”

So, we might get a sequel to GTA Online in the future for multiplayer undoubtedly. But as a matter of the cross-platform support, it sadly remains unknown until we get more clarity.

That’s all about whether the GTA 6 will be a Crossplay and feature cross-platform support. If you enjoyed reading this, explore the latest updates and News on GTA 6 in our dedicated section right here on Gamer Tweak.
