In Fisch, two new items—the Rod of Time and the Hourglass Boat—can be crafted using rare materials obtained in AFK Mode. The items required for crafting cannot be fished or bought from a merchant elsewhere. So, if you’re not sure how to get started, here’s the process of obtaining both items and whether it’s worth it to craft them.
Accessing the AFK Mode for Materials
To get the necessary crafting ingredients, you must first enter the AFK Mine:
- Go to Moosewood Island and find the smaller island nearby – Use a boat to reach the island opposite Moosewood. You can also keep jumping on the water or use a glider to get there.
- Enter the Mine – Walking into the mine entrance on this island initiates AFK Mode.
- Once you’re inside, the game will randomly provide materials at regular intervals—you can go about your real-life day, as Fisch collects rewards for you passively.
How to Craft the Rod of Time
To create the Rod of Time, you’ll need the following items. Thanks to Fandom, we have the % chance of obtaining them as a reward.
- Sand of Time (x1) – 0.33%
- Timeless Threading (x1) – 0.05%
- Ethereal Glass (x1) – 12.75%
- Mythical Essence (x1) – 0.18%
- 1000-Year-Old Wood (x1) – 0.05%
Since these materials drop randomly while AFK, you may need to stay in the Mine for a long time to collect them all.
How to Get the Hourglass Boat
The Hourglass Boat requires the following items:
- 1000-Year-Old Wood (x2) – 0.05%
- Eternal Fuel (x1) – 5.5%
- Hourglass Hull (x1) – 0.18%
- Mythical Essence (x1) – 0.18%
Avoid exiting the game while in AFK Mode to retain your Luck bonus.
Boosting Luck to Get Materials Faster
Your Luck level impacts how often you get them, and there are 3 ways to improve your Luck.
- Stay in AFK Mode Longer – Every 15 minutes in the mine increases Luck by 10%, up to 50% max.
- Invite Friends – Each friend joining grants an extra 10% boost, up to 50% total.
- Roblox Premium Bonus – Players with Premium get an additional 50% Luck boost.
By combining these, Premium players can reach 150% Luck, while free-to-play users can hit 100% max.
Crafting the Items
Once you’ve collected all the materials:
- Exit the Mine – Leave AFK Mode by clicking on the button at the bottom right of the screen.
- Interact with the items outside the Mine – Look for the transparent Rod of Time or Hourglass Boat outside the mine.
- Place the Ingredients – Follow the prompts to craft your new equipment.
Should you craft the Rod of Time and the Hourglass Boat in Fisch?
As you’ll see from its base stats below, it isn’t a great rod by any means. However, if you’re planning to use the AFK mine for other rewards like currency, bait, crates, etc., for a long time, you will get the ingredients as well. You can then craft the rod just to keep it in your inventory.
Rod of Time stats:
- Lure Speed: 20%
- Luck: 25%
- Control: 0.05
- Resilience: 20%
- Max Kg: 2500kg
It’s best not to waste a Relic on it to enchant it.
The Hourglass Boat stats are:
- Speed: 165 S/ps
- Steering: 60°
- Acceleration: 0.25 S/ps
It has 1 seat and its top speed is alright. If you already have a Jetski, it’s not worth crafting it, but you can go ahead if you’d like another interesting-looking boat for your collection.
