Of the two, the first one is the most reliable. If you have purchased the MVP and Deluxe editions of MLB The Show 22, you will get a Cover Athlete Pack. From this pack, you will be able to choose one of the 12 options in it. At the time of this article, this is the only way of getting a Cover Athlete Pack. You will only get one per edition. But this may change in the future and you should be able to get more Cover Athletes.
The Marketplace is a hub in the Diamond Dynasty. Over here, players can buy and sell cards in-game. If you want a Cover Athlete, then all you have to do is look for the Card in the Cover Athletes section in Legends & Flashbacks in Collections. Find it and you will be able to purchase it. Depending on the situation, you may get the Cover Athlete for cheap or expensive.
