Premium Gaming Mouse is designed to deliver the best of gaming experience, yes they are something that can make you feel you always have the edge on others. But what to choose and what not is a big question, if you scan through shopping portals there are hundreds of model pitching what they are good at. The big question is do you need all those features? Or something like Corsair M55 is more than enough for regular gaming needs?
If you are stuck in a dilemma of buying a budget gaming mouse by sacrificing the features and focusing on the look then you are going a wrong way. The first and most important thing to consider is a premium gaming mouse is something that is exclusively designed for Pro Gaming needs. They can offer high precision, fast movement and smart features that a regular mouse fails to deliver. One of the leading brand Corsair has a premium product under this category and we are going to test that today.
The weight detection system, 8 fully customizable keys, ergonomic design, RGB lighting, highly accurate optical sensor, and great looks are primary features of Corsair Nightsword RGB Gaming Mouse. A performable Tunable FPS/MOBA Gaming mouse designed for never-ending gaming.
Design:
Corsair Nightsword RGB is a handsome mouse, a bit bulky in look this mouse just looks like it has landed from Cybertron. Nightsword is a serious-looking mouse, with dedicated customization macro keys it can be your best ally in gaming. Corsair added a weight detection system that is managed by iCue software. With it, you can get a perfect balance of the mouse weight and get a comfortable grip while playing. Rubberized coating on the body and at the thumb side adds more to comfort demanding less effort while playing games. The package has a dedicated set of weights for different needs. You can reduce and add them to adjust the mouse weight.
8 programmable around the body add more freedom to customize the mouse behavior. Everything is managed and controlled through iCue, the LED’s also. Customization RGB light zones help to add more seriousness to the gaming, but will not add anything to your skills. It is a kind of wow factor of Nightsword RGB.
Nightsword RGB size is prefect compared to our recent review Corsair M55, it fits well in all hand size, with complete access to the Left and Right-click. But it does not have Ambidextrous quality. One more highlight of Nightsword RGB is the scroll key, a rubberized griped tire shape scroll is just awesome. Left thumb rest is very comfortable with five programmable buttons, three for the thumb access and two for the index finger. RGB Lights are placed all around the body that justifies the look and cost of Nightsword to some extent. I found Nightsword an amazing add-on for my gaming accessory, it took me some time to get adjusted with the mouse, but later I found my performance better on shooting games like CS:Go. Also, the programmable keys are of great help, instead of scrolling with one click I can swap a weapon or get explosive. It is just a matter of seconds I found myself to be more on the pro level.
Performance:
Two buttons are placed on the front of scroll key, both by default will help you to reduce and increase the DPI, but you can customize one of them. Nightsword features 18000 DPI optical sensor, to be frank, I don’t need that high amount, but it feels nice to have it. I can adjust myself well on the mid-DPI level where I can at least see the corsair because Nightsword is blazingly fast. I tried fiddling with the weights in different games and it does put an impact. If you are playing a heavily stealth-based game like Sniper: Ghost Warrior or anything that requires a lot of precision then fit more weight, the mouse will manage unnecessary movements on its own. Basically, there are no shaky hands at all, and if you are playing a very fast-paced shooting game like CS:GO or a latest COD series then reduce some weight to get a perfect balance between hand and mouse movement.
iCue software is the control point of Corsair Nightsword, the software allows you to customize keys, lights and under the center of mouse gravity based on weights. Corsair Nightsword is an ideal pro-gaming mouse with some serious features. If you ignore the lightning or look thing, Corsair Nightsword is designed for performance. Braided wires and two-year warranty already pitches this mouse can work for years without issues.
However, if you are not interested in too many customizations or does not think mouse weight does any impact on gaming, then Corsair has entry-level mouse-like Corsair M55. With high precision, weight management, and macro keys Corsair Nightsword is a complete gaming mouse.
iCue Software:
Corsair delivers a lot more with Nightsword, not just some techy gadget that glows but a tunable mouse with customizations. The unique software embeds advanced feature allowing the user to get full control over the mouse movement and the most important thing the Precision. If you had added weight and finding the cursor not moving well, then go to iCue and grab the Surface Calibration. Adjust the mouse speed, and Nightsword does the remaining work. It is an awesome feature, where you require minimum effort to get maximum results.
iCue brings amazing various lights customization, because of lights of everywhere, in the front, back, scroll key and logo, Nightsword looks astonishing. It is hard to ignore the mouse. Performance tuning impacts everything from mouse cursor speed to click, so you have to learn a little to use iCue and you are all set to lead in games. Additional weights are provided in the package for different users if you think the mouse is too light to move then add some weights to get accurate movement.
Verdict:
Corsair Nightsword is a commendable gaming mouse, with high precision and accuracy this mouse delivers fast performance and is tunable. The weight system can contribute a lot to pro-gamers. Corsair Nightsword features a durable build and promises high precision gaming. It cost $79.99 on Amazon.com that translates to Rs.6000 in India excluding taxes, but a seller on Amazon.in is selling it for pretty high price(15K). However, we had a scan through different shopping portals it is still not available for sale in India.
