Does the existence of Mouse Pads Really Matter? When we crash into an idea of building a gaming PC whether a mid-range or high end the least considered items are Keyboard, Mouse and the Mouse Pad. Under the pyramid of choices of selecting hardware for gaming pc, the mouse and the mouse pad sits at the bottom. For a casual gamer, it does not matter if the accessories he or she is using will have an impact on the gaming performance, but for those who are serious about performance or at pro-level everything has its magnitude. This where we bring in Corsair MM300 Gaming Mouse Pad, an elegant yet pricey accessory that makes a Gaming PC a “Complete Gaming PC” -lol.
So why does it matter to shed around $19.99 (1300 INR approx) only on a mouse pad?
Design:
Thanks to Corsair for sponsoring us Corsair MM300 Medium range mouse pad, at first it was a little shocking to figure out how the product fits well on the gaming setup because in my case I am a console gamer. For PC I had hardly paid for Mouse and Mouse Pad, but I am very serious about Mechanical Gaming Keyboards. In my view after using Corsair MM300 Medium, I thought it just an add-on with no difference to my gaming. Later we called in our pro-gamer who had an expensive Ryzen 5 Setup and requested to share his views.
Testing Corsair MM300 Medium for over a week we noticed a sweeping change in the way the mouse responses to fps gaming. Coupled with Corsair NightSword + MM300 Medium the output on fast-paced shooting games was amazing at high DPI. Through the gamers test, I found it is not easy to control fast DPI on a regular surface, this means if you have a top-quality laser mouse running on blunt wooden or glass surface it will slip off aim. The most critical component in fast-paced shooting games is precision while aiming. After adding MM300 with NightSword there were major improvements. Below is a short test video on the latest games like Borderlands 3, Control and Fortnite.
If you are regular gamers then MM300 will be a good add-on, here this is how it works. First of all, if you love to switch between mice DPI and unable to control the aim movements then your surface is pathetic. MM300 is an Anti-Fray Cloth gaming mouse that features a textile-weave surface for pixel-precise targeting and low friction tracking. The rubber base keeps the mouse pad attached to the surface, this adds more power to the mouse movement allowing it to slide comfortably over it.
How MM300 impacts Gaming?
I will not say that after adding MM300 you will turn into a pro gamer overnight, well it’s all about practice. Corsair MM300 is designed specifically for a gaming mouse, so you won’t notice a great change if you are using a regular one. It is an ideal partner for Corsair Nightsword kind of gaming mouse, there are also a lot of budgets one available. The real difference is noticeable is when I play games like Fortnite. A fast-paced battle-royale genre where movements and aiming is a true skill.
Minimum Efforts is required when you are playing on Corsair MM300, using a good quality gaming mouse you can easily control the aiming with precision. The mouse pad comes in three sizes – Small, Medium and Extended. Extended has enough space to place your keyboard and mouse together. While Medium is the perfect size for those who have small desks. You can have more idea on how everything works well in shooting games via a short test video. We ran Control, Borderlands, and Fortnite and played a few starting levels. To an extent using a high-end gaming mouse like Corsair, Nightsword was extremely comfortable on MM300, and it makes you feel like pro-gamer.
Verdict:
Corsair MM300 Medium is a decent gaming mouse pad for serious gamers. Great artist always think their art is incomplete without a final touch, the same goes for Corsair MM300 if you want to become a “Great Gamer” (this species does not exist) – Well it’s all about comfort, MM300 is not just a showpiece like LED’s, that just blinks – but a serious gamepad optimized to deliver a movement boost with precision. With high-quality surface aiming at your enemy’s head requires minimum effort, sometimes at high DPI things so fast that you will skip target, but with time it is easier to adjust and this is where Corsair MM300 becomes a habit.
