What is Ascension in Cookie Clicker?
Consider Ascension as your reward for achieving a certain milestone (baking cookies) in this game. In order to Ascend for the 1st time, you are required to make at least 1 Trillion Cookies. Before that, you won’t be able to get any reward through Ascension in Cookie Clicker.
Further, the number of cookies you have baked gets you Prestige and Heavenly Chips after ascending. Also, keep in mind that Heavenly Chips are required to purchase Heavenly Upgrades that remain permanent throughout the session. One more thing to note down about Ascension is that it resets all the Cookies you have made in Cookie Clicker. Although, as mentioned, the Heavenly Upgrades purchased before will remain as it is to provide you buffs.
After Ascending in Cookie Clicker, you will be taken to a constellation-type screen. Wherein, you can see different slots with purchasable upgrades if you have enough Heavenly Chips and Prestige.
When is the Correct Time to Ascend?
According to me, you should Ascend once you have reached at least 200 Prestige in Cookie Clicker. Because by that time, you will be unlocking several precious Heavenly Upgrades on the Ascension screen. However, it depends on how much patience you have to wait and gain more Prestige and Heavenly Chips.
